Tradition and Modernity in Abdullah Laroui's Thought and Fiction

The dawn of French colonialism in Morocco brought about a perpetual clash between tradition and Modernity. This clash has largely shaped the sociocultural and political landscape of Morocco after independence. By delving into the work of the Moroccan historian, philosopher and novelist, Abdullah Laroui, this book tries to explore the ways in which this tradition/ modernity dichotomy manifests in his intellectual works as well as in his fiction.
