The alarming rate of deforestation in the two provinces of Zambia namely Copperbelt and Northern provinces is so high which has prompted the stakeholders and government to allow a comprehensive research as it contributes to climate change. copperbelt province is a mining hub of Zambia and the Northern Province is an agriculture dominated region. thus, the rate of deforestation is high regardless of the many policy implemented and management strategies. hence this research addresses the effects and recommends the proper management strategies.Based on this perspective, this research examined and assessed the rate and impact(s) of deforestation on the forest ecosystem in Zambia and provided knowledge on the existing gaps, strengths and identified the possible mitigating measures on the adverse effects of deforestation.
