The book opens with the historical background of Iran, along with the literature review. It deals with Zoroastrian doctrine, pursues medieval Mazdean religion, emergence and spread of Islam in Iran, religious minorities and their religious freedom and concludes with a discussion of the Bábí and Bahá'í religions, as Iran's most recent contribution to religious history. This is a fully academic treatment of the entire panorama of Iranian religion.
