Immigration in Spain(2000-2008):Agenda Setting and Frame building

In Spain, immigration has become a relevant issue in the public arena during the last decade due to the fact of the increasing number of immigrants. Defined as a phenomenon, a challenge or a problem, immigration affects a country's political discourse, mass media and citizens. This book explores an important question regarding the role of news media in affecting policy decisions and public opinion, particularly during times of crisis. Taking account of the Agenda Setting and Frame Building Theory, this book study the evolution of the visibility of the issue and the way immigration has been framed in the Spanish Media, Political and Public spheres.
