This research study aims at opening new channels of viewing identity in both the cultural and economical areal. Moreover, it may serve students in economics and translation studies. Identity has been central to many debates in cultural, economic, translation studies and others. In a globalized era, the 'self' of an individual or of a nation is in an ongoing quest. Some may find a path by conflicting the 'self' to alterity or otherisation. Others understand identity as a basis for community creation. We view identity as staying true to one's roots, tradition and culture. This holds valid either for the economical or cultural - translational areal. In the translating process, the translator is in the position of choosing between domesticating economical terminology or acculturating it. Thus, the intervention of the translator is crucial in mediating two cultural and economical areals that have distinct identities. Moreover, translation is necessary and important since, on the one hand, it reveals the flexibility of a language and it contributes to the preservation of both the identity and 'personality' of a language, on the other.
