In the Buddha’s teachings, he taught us the way of look at the world that is the doctrine of śūnyatā (emptiness). With the aim of helping people understand correctly the world as well as the Buddha’s teaching in śūnyatā. Writer depended on the Buddha’s teachings that recorded in Pāli Nikāyas to search the origin for this doctrine. Afterwards, reading treatises (Abhidharma) of Buddha’s disciples to find out in what way they understand and practice śūnyatā. Besides, the system of Prajñāparamita Sūtras is place an importance role in this doctrine so these sūtras are considered to. Last but not least, the period of the Madhyamaka School is the pinnacle period of śūnyatā philosophy. This book attempts to show development continuously of the notion of śūnyatā in India from Early Buddhism until Nāgārjuna.
