It would be encompassed within the demyelinating disorders, in which an inflammation and destruction of the myelin in the CNS takes place. Although the role of nutrition in MS is not yet clear, there are molecular bases by which dietary factors and lifestyles can exacerbate or ameliorate MS symptoms by controlling metabolic and inflammatory pathways in the cell.
