Tremendous increase in agricultural production has been mainly brought about by quality seeds of high yielding varieties. Recent researches on production have clearly identified a positive relationship between quality seed and good yield. Experiment was conducted on variety PBW 343. Result showed that the application of zinc affected significantly to all the parameters except days to 50% heading, days to maturity. However, application of S exhibited significant effect with respect to leaf area index at 30, 60 & 90 DAS, chlorophyll intensity, canopy temperature depression, specific leaf weight, chlorophyll fluorescence, days to 50% heading, number of tillers per m2, number of seeds per spike, days to maturity, spike length, seed yield, graded seed yield, seed length, seed breadth, 1000 seed weight, germination, seedling length and seedling vigor index. The 5.0 kg Zn ha-1 and 40 kg S ha-1 have been found to be most appropriate for increasing seed yield and seed quality of wheat variety PBW 343.
