"The purpose of this book is to examine the development of the Church since the arrival of Christianity to Niue Island in 1846. The Church was then called London Missionary Society. It was not an easy journey for the Church in trying to evangelise the Island as well as acting government. The Church face many difficulties in maintaining the London Missionary Society as well as protecting the Island from incomming new denominations, in which the Government of the time supported. The Church recognised its independence in 1970 and rename the Church to Ekalesia Niue. With a Self Government country in 1974 the Church finds a close journey with the Gvernment. As time changes and new influences enter Niue, the Church faces with new challenges to its role. This is one of the main task of the book in examining these challenges. I do hope that the church can overcome these challenges, despite new challenges in this globalise world. I do hope that you enjoy reading my first publish book Thank You, Kia Monuina
