The thesis of this book is that the two traditional levels of language analysis, formal and logical, are insufficient. By adding the missing level, that of the metaphysics of being, the grammar of any language fully accounts for itself. The details are in Part Two. Part One tells the story of the author's quest for the solution, which lasted 46 years until the missing pieces of the puzzle fell into their appointed places. Part Three solves a number of linguistic problems left unsolved by their proposers in various works. The book considers linguistics, from Ferdinand de Saussure to our day, as an exercise akin to quantity surveying in building, and grammar as the actual constructing of the building. In the end, the two disciplines will appear in their natural unity instead of being kept separate by an undesired philosophical error.
