Chiefs and Politicians in Dagbon - Ghana

This book explains the dynastic crisis in ‘Dagbon’ between ‘Abudus’ and ‘Andanis’ in northern Ghana. The chieftaincy conflict has been raging since the colonial epoch and has defied all efforts by pre-colonial and post-colonial governments, religious organizations and non-governmental organizations in conflict management to resolve. The eruption of the over century old conflict in 2002, led to the extermination of the king of ‘Dagbon’. The conflict situation has been worsening because of political interferences, and as such, is linked to national politics.
