Chinese family planning policy, which has more than 30 years of history, has been touted as a marker of success in terms of bringing down China’s fertility rate, but little is known about contraceptive choices in China. This book tried to contribute to the advancement of knowledge on contraceptive choices and usage among women in Guizhou province in China. This study analysed the stark difference of family planning practices and trends in Guizhou Province compared to the other provinces in China despite one common family planning policy for China, as a whole. The results imply that the development of high quality family planning service should continue, and more attention should be paid, especially to rural and minority areas. Promotion of contraceptive knowledge, training and capacity building of the health workers in underdeveloped areas should be increased. In addition, the government should invest in inventing more effective and low side-effect male contraceptives. Husbands should be educated to be responsible partners in contraceptive use while women’s education level especially their rights in contraception should be enhanced.
