The use of language, speech, is the most important activity carried out daily by all people, even though we rarely take any special notice of it. Especially important therefore is the learning of languages in order to be able to communicate. The process of learning most often takes place at an early age, soon after birth, with second language this process occurs somewhat later. As the demand for the ability to speak and understand more languages than one is increasing, it is becoming more and more popular to start with a foreign language education rather early. All this reflects the main concern of this work: learning of foreign languages at a pre-school age. The book focuses on the lexical and syntactical features of speech of young children predominantly, giving theoretical background as well as description of a field research.
