The present book highlights the new approaches in Allelopathic studies. The book efficiently reports an exhaustive study carried out on eight noxious weedy medicinal plants of Agricultural Fields of Pune District,Maharashtra, India. Root zone soils of studied plants were analyzed to know whether the germination inhibition was due to allelopathic interference or competition for nutrients. This indicates that due to the extensive growth of these weeds in the agricultural fields significantly changes physical and chemical properties of soil that inhibited germination and seedling growth of crops. Phytochemical investigation of studied plants showed significant results. Alleolpathic effects of studied plants are confirmed due to the presence of specific phytochemicals present in weed plants. The present book highlights on histochemical, phytochemical aspects as well as HPTLC studies on allelochemicals found in the weeds. In summary, the book as most of the readers will find, is simple and student friendly which would benefit the farmers, students, plant breeders and researchers.
