Conservation Education is a teaching and learning process to raise awareness of the problems faced in the field of biodiversity conservation in general by giving more knowledge in an active way on different topics that provides information of the actual situation of nature – from single species to biotopes in an effective way. Conservation of biodiversity is practiced in both in-situ and ex-situ. In- situ conservation includes the conservation done in natural habitats such as national parks, wildlife reserves, and conservation areas etc whereas ex-situ is the conservation done in manmade habitats like zoo, botanical gardens, aquariums etc. Providing CE through ex-situ conservation is a remarkable job. This study was done to explore the existing CE programs and the perception of recipients of Friends of the Zoo (FOZ) program and other forms of CE initiated by NTNC Central Zoo, the only zoo of Nepal and its future upgrading. This study was undertaken in Central Zoo premises and its CE networking schools.
