The cultural interpretation of women’s work in Bangladesh is not socially well recognized, thus women became victim of socioeconomic agency of their own. Homemaker’s household work treated as unpaid and non economic work and which has no relation to per ca-pita income. Whether a woman is employed or unemployed get the equal treatment in family in case of power or status. Moreover the unemployed women are more in secondary and vulnerable position and the employed women face the double burden to manage the household and outside work. Their contribution as homemaker is overlooked it they do not contribute directly with the money. For this, huge amount of population are staying outside of direct production process and their contribution is not valued in the GDP. It accounts the wastage of human resource. The recognition of homemaker’s contribution should be important and consider them as active participants of national economy to ensure women's empowerment. Revaluing household work time can make homemakers contribution visible in national economy as well as GDP.
