The Gap in Catholic Healthcare Chaplaincy

There is a new era of Catholic chaplains walking the halls and rooms of Catholic Healthcare institutions; they are chaplains, trained in Clinical Pastoral Education, most with a masters in divinity or masters in pastoral ministry. They are not priests, religious sisters or brothers. They are lay Roman Catholics with a passion to carry on the ministry of Jesus Christ in the healthcare setting. They are changing the way healthcare ministry is carried out in the hospital setting.
