The objective of present study was to improve broiler performance in high fiber poultry diet by increasing availability of metabolizable energy (ME) to the birds. The fiber or non-starch polysaccharides (NSPs) cannot be digested by the endogenous enzymes of poultry and can have anti-nutritive effects. These NSPs absorb large amount of water and cause an increase in intestinal viscosity which results in sticky droppings problem. To solve this problem, enzyme preparation (Natuzyme) composed of xylanase, β-glucanase, α- amylase, phytase, pectinase, protease and cellulase is added in diets containing high fiber and low energy.
