Cognitive study came into the scene when the use of digits showed lacunae in the conception and mitigation processes. Through this aspect the local phenomenon of Nor’wester (locally known as Kalbaishakhi in the eastern parts of India specially West Bengal) storm is being dealt with. A group of scientists are trying hard with technological advancement to find out the actual causal effect and the changes brought to this storm recently. From this standpoint the authors have sensed to have a perceptive study from amongst the common people and extract out their way of sensing the upcoming storm. It is thus an ardent necessity as felt by the authors to draw out the latent science that is infused within the people’s perception and beliefs for the in-depth understanding of this storm. This has initiated the authors to opt for Cognitive science that inculcates the synergism with physical science using scientific modeling, methods and computing the output with the aspects of human behavior. Till now as no such research has been taken up as to this regards, it is an effort towards contemporary thinking to allow our geographical knowledge to walk along a newer vista.
