This paper deals with totalitarian forms of governance, with particular reference to the role of the security system as one of the main components of the totalitarian government. The fact is that citizens like changes in government and systems, so totalitarianism, as a form of government, has found its place on the social scene. Although totalitarianism and authoritarianism are associated with some of the past times (Nazism in Germany, Fascism in Italy, Stalinism in the Soviet Union), examples of North Korea and Cuba tell us that they are still active today. The security apparatus of these systems is completely subordinate to the interests of the national leader, of utterly repressive character. Intelligence services, or secret police, were a key element of the security system, and the main means of fighting the opposition, disobedient citizens, or with all who opposed the regime.
