Research on the analysis of the dependency between severe weather phenomena and individual functioning is conducted in various directions. Researchers are particularly interested in the role played in behavior by heat, cold, strong wind or barometric pressure. Studies in this area include analyses of the effect of the severe weather on physiological processes, reaction time, psychomotor functioning, decision-making and learning processes, memory, mood or social behavior. While a significant number of empirical reports concerns the direct influence of weather on behaviour, the author’s own research will concern individual ways of coping with severe weather conditions. Moreover, there are no questionnaires which diagnose functioning in weather context. That is why the aim of this book is to present a new tools which diagnose different aspects of relations between a person and severe weather.
