An overview of Biodiesel

Despite of the wide spread use of fossil petroleum derived diesel fuels, interest in vegetable oils as fuels in internal combustion engines are reported in several countries during the 1920’s and 1930’s. Research into the use of transesterified sunflower oil and refining it into the diesel fuel standard was initiated in the south Africa in 1979.During 1920’s Diesel Engine manufactures altered their engines to utilize the lower viscosity of petrol diesels. This book is the initiation for the UG and PG students with the brief knowledge of Biodiesel. This book is intended to cover most of the information required for the process of Biodiesel.
