Environmental and Socio-Economic Implications of Mining

Environmental conservation and economic development are the two entities of the same coin. They are the two major issues of high consideration. While framing and implementing any policies and planning, these issues should be taken into consideration. This is also important at the time when environmental degeneration and disparities in economic development is high. Every development activity has a considerable impact on the economy and the environment. On the one hand, it improves socio-economic status and enhances national and per capita income, it degenerates the natural environment of the surrounding areas, on the other. Mining activities have the similar impact on the environment and socio-economy.
