Agricultural intensification is a major form of land use change, in many instances, on the cost of multiple crops. This has been happening as the farmers need to increase income to support their livelihood through the increase in labor, fertilizer, technology and irrigation for the improved production and economic sustainability. Changes in land use have a major impact on the global environment and biodiversity. The study examined the biophysical and socio-economic factors affecting land use change, evaluated the relationship between land use and reforestation, and developed models to predict land use change patterns.
