Fungal Deterioration of Textiles and Approaches for Their Preservation

This book introduces some efforts that have been done by the author to study the fungal deterioration of ancient Egyptian textiles and their prevention in Egypt. This book includes the following topics: Chapter I includes review of literature part of fungal deterioration of ancient Egyptian textiles and their preservation. Chapter II includes isolation and identification of the microflora occurrence on archaeological Egyptian textiles. Chapter III Investigating the effect of isolated fungi on biodeterioration of archaeological Egyptian textiles. Chapter IV evaluates some selected fungicides in preservation of ancient Egyptian textiles from conservator’s perspective.
