Technology Commercialization is making a business model of increasing profits after the breakeven point by providing value to customers through the development of novel products (products, services etc.) using the special technologies of particular industries and fields and commercializing this. At this time, there is an increasing impetus on the part of the national and the prefectural governments to take proactive steps to facilitate the commercialization, within the region, of technology developed by the region''s research institutes and universities. Our specific interests are in knowing (a) if the various elements of the process of commercialization are working in the right order, (b) what are the various stakeholders thinking about the process, (c) if the desired economic development through commercialization of science is indeed happening and (d) if all the intermediaries are working in tandem to produce the desired results.
