In the quest for education for all as advocated by the international community and the Imbokodvo National Manifesto the Government of Swaziland embarked on uplifting deaf education through permitting the establishment of the schools for the deaf. Performance of learners in Science from the schools for the deaf in tests and examination has been very poor. The study focused on three research questions: what strategies are used for teaching Swaziland Primary Certificate (S.P.C) Science and Junior Certificate (J.C) Science with hearing impaired learners; what factors influence the teacher’s choice of teaching methods to use; what are the challenges that teachers face and what challenges do learners face in the course of learning S.P.C Science and J.C Science? The research was a case study whereby teachers and learners were interviewed and tape recorded and lessons observed and videotaped. Pilot study was conducted the same way the research was done to validate the instruments. The accuracy of the findings was validated through using a lot of quotations and two colleagues check the transcripts from the video recordings by watching the video.
