Nanofluids attract a great deal of interest in the thermal engineering applications owing to their potential to provide enhanced performance properties. This book provides an overview of the knowledge of the science and technology of nanofluids, their properties and applications for those readers who may not have adequate background in these areas. Experimental methods by adopting a simple, green, cost effective using tannic acid as both reducing and stabilizing agent for synthesizing nanofluids along with the discussions of the challenges and problems associated are well described. The samples have been characterized by XRD, SEM, UV– Vis Spectroscopy for the optical properties, the average particle size and zeta potential by DLS, the surface morphology of the samples by TEM and ultrasonic study at different temperatures. Investigation on the role of nanosilver in controlling the physical parameters of an industrial effluent and their antibacterial activity against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacterial pathogens have been explored. Regardless of background, readers will learn to develop silver nanofluids for a host of new applications on the horizon.
