The first chapter of the book explores the nature of the links between military and civil production and explains the inhibitory effect of militarization on the entire process of expanded reproduction. The military sector of the economy is viewed here as a subsystem in the system of social production and a dynamic model of expanded reproduction is derived, taking into account the large military sector of the economy. In the second chapter of the study, the data obtained on the basis of comparative analysis of the dynamics of military expenditures and the rate of accumulation of fixed capital in the period from 1940 to 2011 allow the author to confirm the conclusion that the consumption of material and human resources for military purposes limits the possibilities of growth of investment in industry, causing the so-called phenomenon of "military overloading" of material resources of expanded reproduction. The third chapter of this book justifies the conclusion that the impact of militarization on modern scientific and technological progress is no longer a long-term incentive. Here the process of militarization of scientific and technical progress in the USA (1976-2016) is studied.
