The status of Women in India both historically and socially has been one of the respect and reverence. The Constitution of India not only grants equality to women but also empowers the State to adopt measures of positive discrimination in favour of Women for neutralizing the cumulative socioeconomic educational and political disadvantages faced by them. This book endeavoured to discuss the condition of women working. This book presents several case studies to discuss the realistic condition of women working especially in unorganized and organised sectors. The existing laws, even if efficiently implemented by credible law enforcement agencies are not sufficient to maintain law and order and to protect the safety and dignity of the women, particularly working in organized and organized sectors. The public policies and problems related to women working in the unorganised and organised sector are discussed in an explicit manner and efforts are made to make a critical analysis and to provide practical solutions to those problems. We believe that this book will be helpful to students, researchers and policymaker.
