Cancer is denoted as one of the world's most deadly diseases and highest killer of the world's population. Though there is various treatment options such as surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy are available for treatment of cancer but chemotherapy remains the most convenient and widely adaptable therapeutic option among them. But drug resistance is a serious issue of it. Hence development of new drug is always a necessity especially when drug resistance is a serious concern in cancer therapy. Many nitrogen bearing heterocyclic molecules have been proved to be potential therapeutic agents with versatile biological activities. Moreover the nitrogeneous heterocyclic molecules with quinoline and thiazole nucleus have already been in use in the treatment of different types of cancer. At present not only the currently marketed pharmaceuticals but also so many other molecules under investigation containing diazenyl synthon are showing potent cytotoxic activity. In to the light of biomedical importance the present study highlights the design and development of quinoline and thiazole containing azo molecules with special emphasis on advancement of cancer chemotherapy.
