MATHEMATICAL MODELS FOR POLLUTANTS UPTAKE IN PLANTS

The book is started with basic concepts of the soil science and plant pollutants. The mechanism of soil root interaction is also explained with basic principles of transport, diffusion in soil and diffusion. The models are developed first for single cylindrical root then these are extended for multiple root branching structure. The radius of root, concentration of pollutants in soil are taken the model parameters. The mathematical derivation of the models are solved analytically and validated for 5 crops
