The politics of value creation

This book provides one of the first comparative ethnographic studies of the Argentinean empresas recuperadas (ERs) – worker cooperatives established during Argentina''s 2001 socio-economic crisis. Through the analysis of eight case studies conducted between February 2006 and March 2007, the author builds an original analytical and methodological approach to cooperatives, the labour process, and the roles of accounting, situating her analysis within wider debates on neoliberalism and the social economy. The book will be of interest to anyone concerned with contemporary issues of social change, political economy, or Argentinean politics.
