Land tenure policies change access and control of resources by various social categories and this in turn changes how they relate to each other which then affects how they manage their natural resource base. From a Kenyan case study, it is evident that the adjudication policy not only dispossessed women and girls from inheritance but also changed the farmers attitudes towards land and its resources and how they manage it to the detriment of the environment.
