This book mainly sets out to discuss the Darwinian paradigm that mutations occur at random, associated with the view that competition for survival is the engine of life. The author will also adopt a critical bias towards the position that evolutionary mutations have nothing to do with progress and are absolutely indifferent to it. He will try to mention how ideas opposed to Darwinism arose, arguing that evolution is causal, and that mutual cooperation remains a general and powerful possibility to explain the behavior of life. The main point of this work is to reverse the path usually taken, of appreciating the phenomenon of life and its evolution starting from the world of physics and chemistry. Arguments are presented that allow understanding the cosmic setup going from the natural world of biology to the inanimate realm, actually including physics, chemistry and biology within a unitary vision of the universe where the principle of eurythmy reigns. This version of the book in English is a fully revised edition of the original published in Portuguese.
