The potential for intra-SADC trade expansion exists and is quantifiable. In statistical terms, current levels of intra-SADC trade amount to an estimated 6% of the region's total trade. The book focuses on intra-industry trade between Zimbabwe and SADC member states. SADC has established itself as an international trading bloc. Current levels of trade between selected SADC countries reveal imbalance in trade patterns, in favour of RSA, which exports several times the volume of its imports, and to some extent of Zimbabwe. Very few studies have been done on intra industry trade in SADC. There is no study so far that has been done to determine the factors that influence Zimbabwe's IIT with SADC. The non-existence of attention given to IIT and Zimbabwe has increased the author's curiosity to explore the factors that influence IIT between Zimbabwe and its trading partners within SADC. This book aimed at identifying those variables that influence intra-industry trade between Zimbabwe and a selected number of SADC member states: Botswana, RSA, DRC, Mauritius, Malawi, Namibia, and Zambia. The book attracts a wide range of readership, from high school to university level.
