Cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) is a very common crop grown in Nigeria due to its economic importance. Nigeria is the largest producer of cassava in Africa. Lots of money could be made from cassava in providing the nation foreign exchange through the export of its products. Cassava is a kind of crop if not processed within 2 to 3 days after harvest, the crop begins to deteriorate. The peeling of cassava has been a major bottleneck in the cassava processing industry in Nigeria thereby reducing the quantity of cassava meant to be processed into finished products per day in meeting the amount needed for export purpose.
