Potential of Chlorophytum phylloplane fungi against foliar pathogen

Medicinal plants play an important role in the development of potent therapeutic agents. This book comprises of potentiality of biocontrol agents in controlling the foliar diseases caused by pathogenic fungi in the medicinal plants. As foliar pathogens not only cause disease but in extreme cases, they also affect the growth and poductivity of the plant and their products. Application of chemical fungicides in controlling the plant diseases possess harmful effects on plants, animals as well as human beings in the long-run.Thus, biological control of plant diseases including fungal pathogens has been considered a viable alternative method to chemical control. In the present study, antagonistic efficacy of microorganisms seems to be an effective measure not only in controlling the plant diseases as well their implementation have shown profound effect in improving the plant growth and boost up their immunity in combating the disease.
