Co-administration polio vaccine and Bacille Calmette Guerin in infants

An increasing number of vaccines targeting some of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality are reaching the world’s children. This review analysed the interaction between BCG and polio vaccine. Evidence suggests that receipt of BCG reduce overall infant mortality. Therefore, precaution should be taken when BCG is administrated with polio vaccine. This review has shown that co-administration BCG-OPV could increase infant mortality.
