Vital statistics are a critical component of the Health delivery system of countries and institutions. They form part of the health information system which allows countries to monitor progress towards achieving health related goals over time. Statistics on deliveries, births, maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality are key indicators when monitoring maternal, newborn and child care services even in low resources countries where the health information system is weak. The study was to describe the trends in deliveries and the maternal-fetal outcomes over 50 years (1962-2011) at Nsambya hospital.
