This book examines the biblical and beliefs and practices in ugo. It explores how the biblical and beliefs and practices in ũgo can enrich each other for effective evangelism of Gĩkũyũ. The author shows that lack of inculturating the beliefs and practices in ũgo into Christianity is the major cause of adherence to a dual religious thought system, with one foot in ũgo, and the other in contemporary Christian thought by Presbyterian Christians. This phenomenon inhibits the growth and genuine expression of the Christian faith. The writer argues that the solution of this dualism is by integrating beliefs and practices in ũgo into Christianity so that Gĩkũyũ PCEA Christians may have a wholistic Christian living. Using an inculturation paradigm theory that follows three stages; phase one consists of a critical evaluation of the cultural element of beliefs and practices in ūgo on the basis of Biblical teachings. The second is a descriptive analysis of the aforementioned element as is understood in the Gĩkũyũ culture. The third deals with the actual method of integrating, replacing or rejecting the same.
