Retention of the expanded suture is an interesting issue in orthodontics. Some researchers have evaluated many substances on osteogenesis of the expanding suture. Vitamin C is known as an essential factor for osteogenesis. Is it possible to increase osteogenesis of the expanding suture by consuming vitamin C? How can we increase retention of the expanded suture? Are there any differences between the effect of vitamin C on rats and human beings?
