Mental Illness in Prison: Recidivism Rates and Diagnostic Criteria

The prison system is filled with individuals from varying backgrounds. With these backgrounds come influences that may or may not have a profound effect on the actions of those imprisoned. Mental illness and its effects on the incarcerated is an area that has yet to be fully researched. Recently there have been discussions about mental illness, but mostly regarding the purchasing of guns, but does not address the real issues people who have mental illness suffer from. This book addresses mental illness and its possible effects upon recidivism rates that plague the prison systems.
