The book,"Resources Management and Rural Development in Adamawa State Area Councils, Nigeria" is an exposition of the checkered management of the rural space by Council authorities in Nigeria. Three Local Governments were sampled for the study with the aim of ascertaining whether statutory grants from the Federation Allocation were actually and prudently managed to spread rural development in the state. From the 160 respondents captured through the use of questionnaire and research questions, majority of the sample population were of the view that essential felt needs which the study used as rural development indices such as portable water, Motorable roads, primary health care services, quality power supply, basic education and food sufficiency have not impacted positively on the living standards of the rural poor. Consequently, the findings show that there is no significant relationship between revenue and budgetary allocations, and the provision of basic rural infrastructure in the Local Governments of the State. The study recommends that the level of fund transfer from the State/Federal to Local Governments be reviewed upwards from the current 10% and 20% status respectively.
