Confronted by growing concerns felt globally, the author explains why a general theory lends insight to two complex interrelated fields. As a means to solve a host of contradictions in education, an understanding of technology and creativity is best aided when essential and integral relationships of both phenomena are thoughtfully considered. Drawing from the author’s arts education practice, relationships are examined through the lens of scientific and philosophical inquiry to address dualistic thinking about art/science, medium/message, and language/thought. In its conclusion, dualism is overturned by carefully framing the interdependence of technology and creativity thus leading to a holistic and practical approach to learning in the 21st Century.
