"Music is everybody''s possession. It''s only publishers who think that people own it", said John Lennon. This statement has been evermore current in today''s troubled music industry. What will happen to music, and what will happen to the music industry? The latter question is the focus of Into tomorrow. The book addresses the music industry in Sweden through the method of scenario planning. Sweden is a good example when discussing this new type of market. The high-speed internet infrastructure is very well spread, the Pirate party represents Sweden in the European parliament and the country is struggling with it''s legislative identity concerning personal integrity of it''s citizens and copyright laws. This means that the rest of the world in a few years will likely see the same problems that Sweden is facing now. It is important to point out that Into tomorrow is not an attempt to predict the future. Scenario planning is a method in which particular obstacles or opportunities are detected and serve as tools for decision-making. How Sweden, being something of a pilot project for the music industry, handles this new market might show the rest of the world the way.
