The Rise of Turkey in the Arab and Muslim World

The articles in this book examines different aspects of Turkey’s rise in the Arab and Muslim world, with some examining it as a potential model for other states in the region and others discussing its impact from a variety of perspectives. All of them, however, are interrelated and have particular themes that transcend the discursive boundaries imposed by the page separating one article from another. Communication, dialogue, engagement, a need for cultural and political understandings, respect for difference of opinion and policies pursuits, and recognition that we are currently living in a changing order that is more globally interconnected than the past, which requires a new type of leadership, are all common themes running throughout the articles.
