With developments in human knowledge and technologies such as tissue and organ transplant, biotechnology and novel methods for induction of fertility, medical investigations and ability to diagnose and treat diseases have brought up many questions which medical ethics alone unable to find an answer to them. In past, treatments for infertility were limited but with rapid advances in reproductive medicine and experiences through infertility treatments, this has changed dramatically. During a few decades, assisted reproductive technologies (ARTs) evolved and now are used on a regular basis all around the world. Although treatments for infertility have caused great evolutions in order to reinforce family structure among infertile couples, however, as other new technologies in medicine, various ethical issues have been exposed to discussion. Ethical considerations regarding assisted reproduction using new technologies are among most important issues in bioethics. Infertility in the past created a constraint on medical treatment for the treatment of infertility, which has changed dramatically with the rapid progress in reproductive medicine and the experiences gained through infertility.
