Potential of Ecotourism Resource in Wondo Genet

There are enormous potentials of ecotourism which were not well developed in Wondo Genet and around it. The major objective of this study was assessing these potentials of ecotourism resources in Wondo Genet which will improve the livelihood of local communities. Survey questionnaires and literature reviews were employed to collect primary and secondary data and to assess the socio-economic situation of the households, ecotourism resources, and the related problems of tourism resource management to come up with solutions. The analyses of the study revealed that natural and cultural tourism resources such as abundance and diversity of bird, scenic landscape, hot springs, cultural and historical attractions and some hotels at nearby areas are the main ecotourism potential in Wondo Genet.
