The core values of the development are life sustenance, self-esteem, and freedom of representing the common goals sought by all individuals and communities. For a long time, the role of households, the i.e. community has been ignored at the various levels regarding solid waste management. The community was considered simply as receivers of centrally provided services by the various government and non-government organizations. The community is the real actor in solid waste management for urban sustainability. Collaborative Strategic Goal Oriented Programming plays a significant role in solid waste management. In Devrukh town, according to 2012 datasets, 1110 kg solid waste was being generated per day now it has been increased. In the town a mass cleanliness program initiated by the ASP College, as a response to the appeal of the Hon. Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modiji regarding Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. However, the general observations display the negative results regarding solid waste management in the town. Though ignored, the role of the community in the process of solid waste management is worth and the community can contribute beyond rules and regulations.
